By now everyone’s heard about Typhoon Haiyan that has ravaged huge swathes of South East Asia and as always happens when disaster strikes everyone around the world tries to help in whatever way they can, no matter how big or small their contribution.
Unlike the glamorous Mrs B, we didn’t have a truckload of designer footwear to donate to the fundraising effort but we all share a great love for all things baked! So we donned our aprons, rolled up our sleeves, turned the oven on and got baking!
Last Friday everyone chipped (or should we say caked?) in and brought in what they do best be they cakes, cupcakes or cookies to sell and raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Philippines Appeal.
Many stomachs were pleased and our hearts were warmed by the turnout of neighbours, friends and journalists who joined us to eat cake and in the process raise over £200!
