Our wonderful Account Manager Fergal took a week out of PR and headed to the slopes; Les Arcs 1950 located in the beautiful French Alps.
For someone who hasn’t been snowboarding for over 10 years, excitement is an understatement to how I was feeling on the run up prior – I even started putting on my goggles at home whilst having a coffee just to get in the mood! After a long wait and a very windy drive up the mountains, we had finally arrived – the village was beautiful and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a 10 person chalet located on the slopes with an amazing ‘ski-in, ski-out’, so no transport was needed getting to and from the slopes – you could literally board into the bar and have a wine ordered before unfastening your bindings! It took a short while to get back into the swing of things and being a bit of an adrenaline junkie, I maybe could have taken it a little easier on myself, but hey, ‘go hard or go home’, ‘work hard play hard’!
Being located nearly 2,000 feet up a mountain, food and drink tends to be a little pricey, but the enjoyment of being away with your friends and family doesn’t make you question ‘is it worth it’ – it totally is! I’d recommend Les Arcs 1950 to anyone and everyone and plan to go back again next year. The highlight of the trip was definitely the floodlit boarding open until 9pm two days a week – if you haven’t experienced it before, this is one of the many reason to go.
