Maurice Lacroix Break Records…

Another year and another world record breaking event for luxury watch brand Maurice Lacroix. You may remember the fantastic ‘The French Job’ project which the brand put on back in Summer of last year, which saw them working with acclaimed freediver Sebastien Murat as he attempted to break the world record for the deepest free dive. Well now less than a year later and Maurice Lacroix have yet again proved their love for extreme sports by teaming up with two kite-boarders as they set out to break another world record.

Brothers Geza and André Scholtz successfully negotiated the 560 km long Strait of Magellan (which lies between the southernmost tip of South America and the island of Tierra del Fuego) on kiteboards, setting a world record and taking the sport of kiteboarding into a new dimension.

With its icy water temperatures, roaring winds and poor visibility, the strait is regarded as one of the most difficult and dangerous navigation routes. The passage demanded full commitment from the entire team. A record achievement in terms of sporting endurance, bringing with it the reward of a place in history as the “Maurice Lacroix Strait of Magellan Expedition”.

To coincide with the event, Maurice Lacroix have launched a new all Silver model of their Pontos S sports watch which is available to buy in Harrods.

Take a look at this amazing video documenting the journey…
