Graduate Fashion Week Alumni To Show During London Fashion Week

GFW17 ALUMNI ARE MAKING WAVES AS EMERGING DESIGNERS THIS LONDON FASHION WEEK!

Graduate Fashion Week is one of the most integral weeks in the year for emerging and flourishing fashion students and graduates! GFW17 Alumni are now taking pursuing exciting careers in the industry, fro communications to design.

Three GFW17 Alumni, Claire Tagg, Amy Thomson and Maddie Williams, are showing at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week on the 15th – 19th February 2018!

GFW17 Alumni, Claire Tagg has established herself as highly skilled in the creation of garments that are primarily print based, with a rich textural feel and elaborate embellishment. Graduating from The University of the Creative arts with a 1st class honours, Claire went on to win ‘The New Designers Hainsworth Statement Award’.

For her AW18 collection Claire is continuing to explore her fascination with glamour, combined with her journey of travelling and illustrations, through her collection.

We look forward to seeing her show on Friday 16th February, 18:00 – 19:30.
Amy Thomson, another GFW17 Alumni, is unique in her focus and style- merging both fashion and illustration to create quirky garments that create individual narratives. The pieces focus on the use of surface pattern to tell a story, aiming to connect with the audience on a personal level. With collections that feature large-scale illustrations, prints and motifs, Amy Thomson has created a brand that is fun and playful. Showcasing on Friday 16th February, 11:30 – 13:00, we are excited to see what Thomson explores in her presentation.

Maddie Williams, GFW17 Alumni and of Edinburgh College of Art, won two prizes at GFW17, including the Catwalk Textiles Award, and the Dame Vivienne Westwood Ethical Internship Prize. She presented her award winning graduate collection last year, and has gone on to recently win a One to Watch Award from Fashion Scout London.

Williams experiments with silhouette and texture, developing materials from renewable and recycled sources to have minimal impact on the environment. Williams is a designer that combines elements of fashion, costume and fine art, making everything she produces truly unique.  Williams has been featured in magazines such as, Vogue, Vogue Italia and Marie Claire. Williams will be showcasing with Fashion Scout as part of the Ones to Watch Catwalk show, on Saturday 17th February at 14:30.
