Really Wild London Craft Week Event: Tweed on Screen at The Sloane Club

During London Craft Week, TASK PR supported Really Wild Clothing in hosting an inspiring evening celebrating the legacy and modern evolution of tweed.

Held at The Sloane Club, the event brought together press, industry figures and emerging creative talent for a conversation exploring tweed’s journey from heritage fabric to cinematic icon.

A conversation bridging fashion, film and heritage

Hosted by Nadja Swarovski, Chief Creative Officer and Chair of the Board at Really Wild, the panel featured:

  • Lydia Slater
  • Anna Mary Scott Robbins, known for her work on Downton Abbey

The discussion explored how tweed has evolved from a traditional heritage fabric into a powerful visual and storytelling device within film and contemporary fashion.

From craftsmanship and textile heritage to costume design and cultural relevance, the conversation offered a thoughtful perspective on the enduring role of materiality in creative industries.

Celebrating craftsmanship and British textile heritage

A key highlight of the evening was the introduction of Kynoch Mills, a renowned Scottish fabric house whose tweeds are central to Really Wild’s collections.

Positioning Kynoch Mills within this wider cultural conversation reinforced the importance of craftsmanship and provenance, and the role of heritage textiles in shaping modern design.

Engaging the next generation of creatives

The event welcomed nearly 90 guests, including press, industry professionals and students from the Vogue College of Fashion.

Bringing together established voices and emerging talent created a dynamic and forward-looking discussion, centred on the continued relevance of craft, storytelling and material innovation.

A standout moment during London Craft Week

Tweed on Screen offered a compelling example of how brands can engage audiences through meaningful, content-led events that connect heritage with contemporary culture.

By combining expert voices, a strong narrative and a carefully curated guest list, the evening successfully positioned Really Wild at the intersection of fashion, craft and storytelling.

It was a pleasure to support this event and to see such strong engagement across press and industry guests.
